A string of memories

So many great stories to be told and written... For some reason on this day it's a flurry of amazing memories: peanut butter ice cream on the couch in Pottstown, watching firecrackers up on the roof on 4th of July, the hose strung up to the metal slide in the backyard to create our own water park, the shower turned into a game in the basement, that beat-up pool table, Mannatoney Park, summers in Rehobeth with Aunt Jo, Uncle Les, and Uncle Frank playing pinnocle. The Halloween she showed up surprisingly at our house wearing a sheet and pretending to be a ghost (drove all the way from Pottstown), laundry baskets used as Easter baskets, the store on High Street and how I'd often sleep over to help build bikes and eat from those giant bags of gummy bears, all of those cutomers that she knew so well and cared about so much. In my teenage years working the cameras at the Telemart studio, going to Dempsey's. In her later years, for me, it was all about the warm backyard days on my parents porch in Bensalem. I'd be on a break so we'd have hours to just sit and talk. Honestly, those were some of the best conversations I've ever had with someone. I miss her...
